The salary of a physical therapist can vary due to numerous variables such as your specialty, experience level, location, facility, whether to take on a permanent or travel assignment. The current median salary for a <physical therapy job> in the United States is $75,081 (according to Salary.com).

From a data sample of 3,544 physical therapists, PayScale.com reports that a newly licensed therapist entering the job market can expect to make between $47,719 and $69,858 per year. While someone with 20 or more years can expect to make between $51,556 and $98,281.

With just over 198,000 PTs in the United States and a low 5.5% unemployment rate, there is a high demand for physical therapists in today’s job market. The employment growth in this field is expected to grow by 39% over the next decade. Travel physical therapy jobs tend to pay more and can have really nice benefits.
