We're pleased to introduce Martin Weatherby

Physical Therapist

Martin is from Roswell, Georgia and attended Georgia Southern University where he played football and received his B.S. in Exercise Science and Kinesiology and B.A. in Modern Languages. Early into his undergraduate curriculum Martin discovered a passion for anatomy and began to pursue a career in health sciences. In this time, he decided he wanted to be a physical therapist, hoping to work explicitly with high-level athletes. Martin was accepted at Augusta University, formerly called the Medical College of Georgia. During this time, he discovered he enjoyed working with all kinds of patients from geriatrics to weekend warriors, and from the industrial athlete to acute hospitalizations.

Martin realized he was unable to begin a career that would captivate the variety of patients he wanted to treat unless he picked traveling therapy. With student loans looming, he began to explore his options and the more he researched, the more he set his sights on traveling as a new grad. Martin graduated in May 2017 and has since worked in multiple outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health.

 

Kelly, Martin’s wife is also a travel therapist and a mentor with Advanced. As a mentor, Martin looks to assist new graduates in the hurdles that come with transitioning into a full-time clinician and grappling the challenges of traveling. He hopes to optimize the benefits of travel PT for anyone motivated and driven to be successful not only clinically but in life as a whole!
