Registered Respiratory Therapist - Neonatal Intensive Care - (RRT - NICU)


Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience. Under the supervision of the Cardio-Pulmonary manager, the Licensed Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician's orders, and department policies and procedures. The Licensed Respiratory Therapist manages and provides care to patients via the nursing process, therapeutic environment, treatment modalities and inter-disciplinary collaboration. Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychologic and cognitive status. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of oxygen concentrations and medication doses as they relate to patients of varying ages, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients. Formulates a goal directed plan of care which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes. Accountability The Licensed Respiratory Therapist reports directly to the Cardio-Pulmonary Supervisor. Astute communication skills with employees, physicians, visitors, administration and public. Ability to adjust to job situations that involve many different people and projects, requiring some independent action and judgment. Must have the ability and competency to operate the equipment of his/her position; perform technical procedures; speak intelligently and in a professional manner before others; and exercise supervision and management skills. Must be a graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy and have a current state of Colorado Respiratory Therapist license. Must have proof of current instruction in CPR. Experience: Minimum of one or more years of experience preferred. Bi-lingual capabilities helpful. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
