Job Description & Requirements

Pharmacist - Acute

SHIFT: DAYS, 32 guaranteed hours per week. no call.

Required Qualifications

Degree in Pharmacy (i.e. B.S. or Pharm.D.) from a school or college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) is required. A Graduate Pharmacist must have documentation from a school of pharmacy accredited by ACPE, either in the form of a diploma or official correspondence stating that they have met all requirements for graduation. New graduates may be accepted. License, Certification, Registration: Licensure in the State of Alaska is required. Preferred Basic Life Support (BLS). Willingness to learn or understanding of patient-oriented and management computer software systems. Additionally, airfare is paid initially by the candidate and/or the agency and will be reimbursed upon the candidate's arrival here in Bethel, AK. YKHC will arrange their travel from there on. Please let us know when this is done. Note: We are require to receive the flight itinerary information for the candidate at least one (1) week in advance to ensure that we can provide scheduling of New Employee Orientation class attendance, Housing, etc. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS cards o Nursing License(s) [must be current] o OIG Report o SAM Report o Emergency Contact Information o References (if available) o Drug Screen.

Facility Location

Bethel is located west of Anchorage, Alaska and can only be accessed by water or air. It has a subarctic climate with long snowy cold winters and mild, short summers and is the main port and transportation hub for 56 villages in that area of Alaska. Annual events in Bethel include a Dogsled Race, a Fair in August and a Traditional Dance Festival in the Spring.
