Mental Health Awareness Month: You are #MoreThanEnough

During each May since 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in the United States. It is an opportunity to reflect, raise awareness, and advocate for the many people around the world who are affected in some way by mental illness.

Organizations like the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) are leaders in the national movement—uniting people in their mission to “fight stigma, provide support, educate the public, and advocate for policies that support the millions of people in the U.S. affected by mental illness.”

Establishing a greater understanding and encouraging support regarding mental illness has become even more paramount in recent years, with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic felt at home, at work, and everywhere else—mental health often giving way to physical health as a national focus.

Thus, the critical importance of Mental Health Awareness Month endures—this year, following the theme, More Than Enough.

You Are #MoreThanEnough This Mental Health Awareness Month

As stated by NAMI, “It’s an opportunity for all of us to come together and remember the inherent value we each hold—no matter our diagnosis, appearance, socioeconomic status, background, or ability.”

NAMI invites you to share on social media why you are more than enough by tagging (@NAMICommunicate) and using the hashtag #MoreThanEnough.

At AMN Healthcare, we echo NAMI’s sentiment in letting you know that if all you did was wake up today, that’s more than enough.
