The role of the vascular interventional technologist is to treat patients using methods that avoid major surgery and that inflict minimal physical trauma on the patient. This typically involves guiding small tubes through the patient’s organs and arteries and then employing X-ray, CAT scan, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and/or ultrasound, among other imaging modalities.
